“Re-United Now-Here” is a new piece produced for the Henk
festival and the soundtrack for the performance is especially created in
collaboration with Jason Lanox. The karmic story is told by extracting and bringing
to light the unique qualities and set of skills of each of other 13 dancers.
This way the piece is choreographed in an organic way using the synergy of
energy of the group and extracting uniqueness of each individual, combining
various styles: ballet, butoh, hop-hop, jazz , etc. For this piece the given within the
environment of NDSM is used incorporating concrete ship slope leading into the water,
the bridge and the metal structures on site to create a set applying special
effects of smoke and lights.
Human condition is the main subject matter of this
performance investigating the deepest inner desire for love and sense of
belonging at the same time questioning what is the higher potential of the
human being. What is natural and what is culturally, politically and
economically imposed? While revealing the fragile and fleeing nature of human
emotions and relations, the piece explores gender, sexuality and what lies
beyond, questioning the alternative ways of human relations. Could the
community of liberated neo-humans reunited in love exist? Are you ready to
join?

Present
“Serendipity”
at
Kers Gallery
during
Gay Pride Amsterdam
“Serendipity” is a spontaneous show especially for Gay Pride
Amsterdam at the Kers Gallery by a Gay Duo Art Collectors Gina&George,
created in a dialogue as a reaction to a stagnant just as canal water art scene
in Amsterdam.
Gina Hillberg is a London based curator & art collector
and an agent, who represents the artist Inga Cholmogorova working worldwide,
who is currently back in Europe from Japan for the summer.
George Otto is an art collector, curator focusing on gay
art, who is also the major collector of the works of an Amsterdam based artist Feike Otto van der Zee.
“We are judgemental, impatient, subjective just like you but
we are also free enough to express our extreme point of view!” – state
Gina&George.
“Serendipity” is a show, installation, performance and a
statement by Gina&George as a result of an ongoing dialogue and exchange.
Gina & George agree on the fact that the art scene is Amsterdam stinks – it
is extremely boring and safe, where for years nothing new and original was
shown as a result of monopoly of few heavily subsidized art institutions
producing and hyping similar in style confirmative “one trick pony”
artists.
Therefore especially for Gay Pride Amsterdam Gina&George
combined the forces to inject some fresh blood in this lethargic art scene
presenting diverse and dynamic works by Inga Cholmogorova and Feike Otto van der Zee
in combination with various objects and the artworks of other artists from
their private collections. Variety of live performances and acts will be taking
place during the Gay Pride on the 4th of August at the Kers Gallery between 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
“We just present a subjective choice of art we like,
something what touches you and makes you feel aliveness within you, rather than
all that self-referential, dull and dated stuff shown around Amsterdam at the
moment, which you suppose to understand after reading pages of pretentious arty-farty
blah-blah”, - Gina & George describe the concept of their show. “ It takes
balls to say this out loud and that’s what we have got in common, only mine are
placed on the chest”, - adds Gina.
Although there
are some art works on the walls in the gallery, which you can buy, what
Gina& George present is a total experience: something what is happening at
this moment – it is live and uncensored, theatrical but real, raw and yet
sophisticated, sexual but emotional, brutally honest and yet poetic and last
but not least whatever it is, it is not straight and boring! The Duo invites you to visit the show
and buy some exciting art, reminding that there will be no passive spectators
at this exhibition as whatever you do, even if you do nothing, you become a participant
and co-creator of this show.
“You are very welcome to bring your unique and fabulous self
along, leaving the dull you at home on the couch to watch TV!”, - encourage
Gina&George.
