Concept: Inga Cholmogorova

Video: Anstasija Pirozenko & Justina Nekrasaite
A live duet butoh performance "Live Animals" was an intervention in the public space in the majority muslim populated area in Bos en Lommer, where Sakurako is currently an artist in residency within the Bookstore Project. The construction site behind the fences accross the street from the gallery space and the found sofas on the street became a set for the dance performance "Live Animals", which caused a mixed reactions form the local inhabitants, who had a chance encounter this work. Two bodies are transfomed into animal like creatures interacting with theirs surroundings and each other. While children were enthusiastic and were following the dancers commenting out loud ("Look she is transforming form the tiger to the monkey now! Look, look he is to attack now!, etc.) while they were observing, the gowns up were complained about the obscene nature of the work and nudity (both performers were wearing underwear) and wanted to call the police.
