"Same, same but different", - they say in Asia and it was a starting point for the artist to start working on theme New York - Amsterdam. People make and inhabit cities and hence investigation of something universal interconnecting people beyond race, age, gender, nationality, etc. was the quest. To strip off economically, politically and culturally imprinted behaviour pattern two dancers: Hiram Pines in NYC and Sakurako in Amsterdam were instructed to focus on the constantly interchanging body/mind/spirit phenomenon. Further they had to extract some gestures while meditating on what are the core values for them. A private ritual was performed in the public space were issue of universal core values were addressed through movement and gesture. The point of departure was "Esperanza" (Hope) position taught by Master Tatsu, a spiritual guide, both dancers were honored to encounter while doing butoh training with Yumiko Yoshioka at Schloss Broellin.
